|
A few simple habits can significantly reduce the chances of vehicle crime:
1. Always lock up - Even if you're stepping away for a moment. Most thefts happen when cars are left unlocked . 2. Remove valuables - Bags, laptops, tools, and even loose change attract opportunists. If it's visible, it's vulnerable. 3. Keep keys secure - Store car keys away from doors and windows. 4. Consider a signal- blocking pouch for keyless entry vehicles. 5. Park smart - Choose well-it, busy areas or driveways with good visibility, Offenders avoid places where they can be seen. 6. Use visible deterrents – Steering locks, wheel clamps, and window etching make your vehicle a harder target. 7. Check your windows - Make sure all windows, including sunroofs, are fully closed before leaving the vehicle. 8. Report suspicious behaviour - Quick reporting helps us identify patterns and act before offences escalate.
Working together, we can reduce opportunities for vehicle crime and keep our streets safer. | ||
